Election Geek: 2008 Election News 24/7: Barack Obama has been elected 44th President of the United States

  • Bob · 1 year ago
Everyone does not understand what has just happened, the end is near, and now we can not do anything about it
  • Cooper · 1 year ago
LOL! Grab a cardboard box and go out and spread the word, Bob! Make sure you keep that crazy look in your eyes and wear those filthy clothes or noone will take you seriously. LOL... the end is near. Are we talking plagues of locusts here? I just want to be prepared. Say, how was Y2K for you? I think maybe Obama shot JR, so there was NO way I was going to vote for him. I DID vote for Big Foot, however and I think that he just may pull us out of the dark ages.
  • Lee · 1 year ago
Maybe you should open your eyes and mind a little bit and see what just happened. Granted BOB this is America and you do have a right to your opinion that is what this country is about, but now instead of wallowing in your "The End is Near" theory, get off the couch and do your part to support this country. Negativity and Hatred only will keep this country divided..... we now need to come together to help solve the problems of our Country and part of that is realizing from you diluted state that Obama is our President and help him get this country back on track.
  • wilbur miller · 1 year ago
Not sure what race you are...but do you realize the divide that is looming over us? I am most proud of the white people of this country who are often looked upon as racist and who are accused of holding the black man down who also voted with little or no regard to race. I find it hard to believe 95% of the black voters share the same views as Obama…but much like Colin Powell, it seems the majority of black voters found it easier to cross party lines than race lines. As a black Republican I have moral responsibilities to myself and family that prohibitted me from crossing those lines, economy comes before soul in the dictionary only.
  • CompGuy · 1 year ago
I too am a black republican and at one point was unsure of who to vote for, but the party is where I would have stayed.
I am also quite concerned of the rift that will probably spread through this.
It is hard to understand why people do what they do but I pray this will be a good change and not a bad one.
  • Timothy Ceder · 1 year ago
    Let's get something done!
  • I HATE OBAMA · 1 year ago
Thank you AMERICA. We now official have a Muslim as our leader. Way to go. You ppl are sooooo stupid. You listen to everything. Well listen to this. I am now going to denounce my citizenship from this God awful country. And I hope, and pray that someone KILLS that Muslim. Let's just give a warm and welcome invitation to a terrorist. THIS COUNTRY MAKES ME SICK!!!
  • I BELIEVE IN OBAMA · 1 year ago
    You know what YOUR WELCOME! I'm proud that I helped influence history in a positive way. Are you absolutely crazy? Or are you just that close minded as to think these horrible things? Someone who is Muslim isn't automatically a terrorist. That is just an ignorant stereotype. Take a religion class, or read a book. This country is in need of a change in case you haven't noticed. And I'm pretty sure that someone that says these horrible things doesn't deserve to live here anyways, because you obviously don't realize how good you have it just by living in America;
  • Cooper · 1 year ago
LOL another awesome post by the crazies! See now if I turned a blind eyes to reality and bent my ear to only the conservative press like Mr. Hate here, I would still most likely understand that this statement reflects poorly on any opinion I may have. Of course, the "you listen to everything" comment from someone that listens to only one group of Americans is a gem! Hey Hate... even those that brainwashed you into believing your conspiracy theories would be sick hearing your lack of love for your country. Grow up, crazy. :)
  • Lee · 1 year ago
Shame on you Mr. Hate. To wish ill well on another person....shame, shame, shame. Grow up an remember there are two sides to everything and maybe you should do your research from both sides before you start shouting such things!.
Again we need to come together as a country to solve our problems and not stay divided...maybe if people out there did not express so much hatred then our world would be in better shape. Stop and think for just one second that comments such as yours is very Un-American!
  • JEEZY · 1 year ago
Looooooooooooooool! LMAO! YES WE CAN!!!!!!!! YES WE DID!!!! Just face it my friend and deal with it, its gonna be ok. After Clinton, I was saying the same thing about the previous presidents...no you cant be proud of that shit. Bush, I like Bush, but he is the dumbest President ever. He don't even know what an OBGYN is. LMAO! God Bless America... Congratulations Obama!!!! UNited We Stand Divided we Fall!
  • Kelly · 1 year ago
I would like to say that I am pretty frustrated that everyone thinks that Obama has been elected when only 56% of the nationwide have been submitted. How does that make him president? Just because of the electoral votes? That's not possible because a lot of those states are not completed submitting their precincts. He is not president until we are absolutely sure. Especially since many states are close to the 50/50 mark. Which means it can swing either way before it is done. How funny it would be if the remaining precincts report differently and the electoral votes change!!!!!
  • Mack · 1 year ago
I agree with you Kelly. Maybe I don't understand enough to know but how can they call it with states like CA not even at 10 percent reported?
  • Kelly · 1 year ago
It is because they are predicting based on history and the areas that reported. It is frustrating. And then we have other bloggers talking about him being the first African American President when all I see is an American President. Or better yet, the potential American President. It is completely frustrating Mack. I just wish we would just wait to assume. One day the predictions will be wrong and they will have to eat crow or just forget the actual figures.

Now they are saying he is the President of the US. I just want to yell at them!!!!
  • Mack · 1 year ago
So technically he has not been elected?
And McCain could still win even though he gave a concession?
I should have payed more attention in high school. :)
  • Kelly · 1 year ago
Statistically speaking, they are saying that he is the next president. Based on how the polls are leaning and the direction they are going. Which means that these statistical analysis' state he is the president elect. But I say, what if they are wrong and the polls really do show a leaning toward the other side. Then the electoral votes will swing to the other candidate.

But as you can see, everyone thinks he is elected. I am just frustrated and scared that our nation is really not ready for this new age and direction. But, who am I to predict or do statistical analysis on the next problem or item that will come up. Don't be surprised that anything can happen. I just want REAGAN back!!! :-)
  • Mack · 1 year ago
LOL Me too. I get so confused over this stuff.
    Thanks Kelly.
    Got my fingers crossed.
  • g · 1 year ago
I hope the uneducated people that elected Obama are happy..You elected a racist, socialist..The only people that will do well are the ones on welfare and people that are wanting handouts..The hard working bill paying people of this country are screwed..
  • Lee · 1 year ago
I beg to differ....uneducated??? Hum the states that PRESIDENT ELECT Obama won were state that have some of the most highly educated people. I being one of them. I find your comment offensive. It is uneducated people that make comments like that. Stop being so angry and help this country, He is OUR ELECTED President, we all had to deal with Bush for 8 years because he was elected by the people. Good or bad how ever you feel about it. Now it is time for a change.... Racist??,, not once did play to his heritage. He is an American, black white whatever it does not matter people are people..if people start reminding themselves of that then maybe racism will no longer be an issue for anyone. Do you make more than $250,000 a year??? If middle class probably not. remember less than 5% of American makes more than $250,000 a year. See all sides and try to open you mind just a little to see the possibilities.
  • MaRk · 1 year ago
Although I am a republican, I will support the person who is the elected president.
But if G has to put up with obama for 4 years then you too Lee have to put up with his or anyones whining about Obama being elected as we have listened to the democratic party whine over Bush for 8 years. It is a tit for tat situation is it not?
  • Lee · 1 year ago
You are right again Mark....As I mentioned in another comment above. It is our RIGHT as an American to voice our views and opinions. This is one thing that makes our country Great. Lets hope though everyone can at least come together to help fix this mess we are in.
  • bullwinkle0780 · 1 year ago
That is the most uneducated thing I have ever heard. They teach you the definition for Socialist in high school, and since you don't even have that concept down yet, I would be hesitant to call others uneducated. You sound like you get your education from the back of a cereal box. I have noticed a trend in uneducated party members; you take these "slogans" and obscure figures that a friend hands you or perhaps you hear on your favorite radio show, and you pawn it off as your own idea, as if you really know what your talking about. The problem is that you were raised to be scared, and scared is all you will ever be, unless you discover your own integrity. The educated Republicans I talk to aren't screaming "Socialist, and End of the World, and, America really screwed up". They are saying; "ok, whats done is done". "Let us now unite and remember what it means to be proud of our nation". I agree, and I have never been more proud to be an American. As for all of you who are too afraid and too busy feeling sorry for yourselves, you can either cry on each others shoulders, or help fix our nation. For goodness sakes have a little pride and dignity.
Obama 08'. P.S. There is nothing about the Muslim faith that condones terrorism. That is like saying; if your a Christian, then you belong to the KKK. How ignorant is that. "Education will ensure our future." Peace.
  • Sam · 1 year ago
    It is a historic night
    Congrad to President-elect Obama.
Now, he have to fulfill his pledge of uniting the 2 parties.
We can not afford to have a bi-partisan anymore.
  • Kelly · 1 year ago
What do you want to do, rewrite history and the Declaration of Independence or better yet, rewrite the Bill of Rights? It is necessary for our country to have a Bi-partisan. It is just like business. If you don't have more than 1 company, you have a monopoly which prevents competition, which prevents price deductions. Then we will be no better off than the Communists. We need the two parties. They help us look at both sides of the fence.
  • Vicky · 1 year ago
It is too bad America elected a dictator instead of a president. I love my country but I will not claim that I have a president.
  • Kelly · 1 year ago
That's a shame. It doesn't matter if we voted for the person or not. Once voted, he is our President. Especially if you are an American Citizen. You don't have to like the President. That is why we have elections. To kick out those we do not like. Our forefathers planned it to work this way.
  • Vicky · 1 year ago
There is no if about it I AM an American citizen and I have the right to disclaim the man if I want to. I state again I love my country but I think those who elected him have just put us in a deeper hole.
  • rhodydog · 1 year ago
And the way it work is that you have to wait 4 years and try to get your guy in next time. I had to put up with Bush for eight years but I didn't threaten to assassinate him. What some you are calling for here is pure treason.
  • Shane · 1 year ago
Maybe treason like participating in FLAG BURNING. He admitted it him and his wife both participate. What do we do with a president that has committed treason. Please let me know is he gonna be another Clinton. At least with Clinton he was just screwin girls and not the whole country
  • BATS · 1 year ago
SHANE AFTER 4 YEARS OF THIS GUY AND HIS WIFE, EVERYONE WILL WISH HE WAS BILL CLINTON, THATS HOW MUCH DAMAGE HE CAN DO. THIS COUNTRY NEEDED CHANGE, BUT LEST EVERYONE FORGETS, CHANGE CAN BE FOR THE WORSE, NOT THE BETTER. WITH WHAT HE PLANS TO SPEND ON HIS AGENDA, THE TAX CUT FOR 95% OF AMERICANS IS A FALISY. HE WILL TAX EVERYONE. AND REMEMBER CORPORATIONS DONT PAY TAXE, THEY PASS THE INCREASE ONTO THE CONSUMER. THE PRICE OF ALL GOODS AND SERVICES IN THIS COUNTRY ARE GOING TO GO UP. NICE TAX BREAK.
  • Lee · 1 year ago
It is amazing you are such a clairvoyant that you can see the future so well. Maybe you can end the war. Lets just see what happens. Instead of starting this New Era on a bad note how about if we all come together as the Americans we all say we are and HELP instead of continually tear things down.
  • bullwinkle0780 · 1 year ago
Bats, do you even know what a fallacy is? Go take a logic course, then read some non-partisan material about Obama's policies. You will soon discover that everything you thought you knew was just conservative propaganda. Wah Waaahh.
  • bullwinkle0780 · 1 year ago
A deeper hole? way to quickly shift the blame. Why should we take responsibilty, or why should Bush for that matter? Its all Obama's fault and he is not even it the White House yet. But I think that is a wonderful ideal.
Why does Bush have such a low approval rating? Its because those of you who kept voting for him are now unhappy about the outcome :(. Vicky, I don't know if you voted for Bush or not, and sure you have a right to your opinion, but pointing the finger at American's for developing wisdom is regressive and will lead to nowhere.
  • Obama Sucks · 1 year ago
THanks to the liberal media, hollywood, and the other loosers that helped Obama win.....................you all suck...........good job on electing a marxist, who associates with terrorist and wants to rob the rich to give to the lazy ass people who sit on their asses all day and do nothing,..................................as far as I am concerned this country has gone to hell especially now that we have a socialist as our leader.......................It says something that Iran, Venzuala, and other rouge nations were pulling for him to win....................hum..... I wonder why???? Oh yea, if I sit in a church and here 20 years of hate directed toward a particular race then that means that I agree with the message.............if not then I get up and leave and never come back
  • ricky boby · 1 year ago
i am with you he is rediculous just because he is black or just because he can promise a bunch of BS people think he will be a good leader. did he ever give up his birth records. the man can even cross his heart when the national anthem is playing. Does he even know the words. the statements his wife made, his preachers comments and actions. this election was based on race. Its not that he is black i could care less but omg his ideas are so full of bs.
He will never have a picture on a dollar bill but maby on the well fare stamp. god please see us through this act of stupidity
  • Cooper · 1 year ago
Hi Ricky.. what ideas are we talking about?
  • bullwinkle0780 · 1 year ago
Well, you spelled Iran correctly! Good work! Now you can work on Venezuela. But I am afraid you get an F+ on this assignment. There is nothing in your argument that is actually true. Now some other ignoramus will read this and think that they have obtained knowledge. We are producing some of the dumbest children IN THE WORLD! And yes that is a fact! You have just proven to the world that you know less than nothing, and by spreading your lies and ignorant hate- filled propaganda, you are further infecting the minds of our children. You should be ashamed.
  • Shane · 1 year ago
I am kinda worried at the fact Obama wants to change the flag and the nation anthem. Also just wondering why anyone would want a person that continues to participate in flag burnings with his wife... I just dont understand why the majority of the USA want someone running the country that is so anti-america..
  • bullwinkle0780 · 1 year ago
Shane! I don't say this often but; You're an idiot! First he attends flag burnings with his wife, then he wants to change the flag an national anthem? You need to buy some fix-a-flat to put in that empty coconut of yours. Don't believe every bit of trash that "they" tell you to believe in. P.S. I heard he wants to turn the White House into a pyramid. LOLOLOL!!!
  • Korn · 1 year ago
Come on people he is our president now, did you listen to his speech. Obama has challenged the ones who did not support him to help him rebuild this country. It is not about Obama its not about you, it is about us, we now have the power and the voice to do something ourself instead of expecting one person to do it all. This is a new time for Americans to work together for the common goal, it does not matter if you are Black, White or Muslin anymore, it only matters that you are American. So stop whinning and lets rebuild this country.
  • Lee · 1 year ago
    Bravo Korn!!!!!!!
  • Bella · 1 year ago
Can any one tell me who gave the prayer before Obama came out tonight? Some people are saying it was Rev Wright. Is that true?
  • BATS · 1 year ago
No, but that would've been the funniest thing i ever saw in my life, lolololololol. everyone in the countries face would've have fell off. lololololol.
  • theinside · 1 year ago
This just in from a GOP insider some are saying there is a "Rift " between Mc Cain and Palin as seen at His speech tonight from Arizona. Sarah Palin was to introduce John Mc Cain and for a while it was uncertain that She would even go on stage, after much debate Palin did appear with Mc Cain but the tention was evident as Palin and Husband Tod stood to the far right and then exited the stage quitely and quickly. " Say it isn't so, Joe!" Sarah went rogue, with her 12 gauge, Shot the Maverick in the back and voted for Obama! that is what the real rift is about.
  • cc · 1 year ago
Now can we end affirmative action?!
  • BATS · 1 year ago
That will never end, This country now has a black president, and they will still consider themselves the minority, or that they have no opportunies in this country.
  • bullwinkle0780 · 1 year ago
I give up! Sigh. For those of you (CC!) who think that Affirmative Action should end because the white men are loosing jobs to African Americans, you are WRONG. Update! If you think that there is equal opportunity, there is not! If you think that an African American took a job that you could have had, he/she did not! AA gives African Americans the opportunity to be considered for the same jobs as everyone else. So if you white people don't think it is fair, blame the white man who got your job because he was more qualified than you. P.S. I have to get out of this site.
  • Paps · 1 year ago
    Wow,

I would have to agree with almost everyone here. It's amazing how a man that probably couldn't get a top secret clearance through normal channels, will now be the president of our great nation. There are many issues surrounding Barack Obama's character and experience. He was able to eloquently speak to many Americans who were unable to see the truth. But instead surrounded themselves with grandeurs of delusion, racial attachments and a complete falsehood of hope. I think I am going to quit my 6 figure day job, so all those who supported Obama, can now support me. "Share the Weatlh"!!! God help us.
  • Tracy · 1 year ago
For the first time in my 47 years I am ashamed of my country. I cant believe anyone voted for this idiot.
  • Lee · 1 year ago
And you probably voted for Bush. Are you ashamed of that? Remember we now have a President that wants to rebuild our country in the right way and not tear it down. We all should come together as a country and help make this happen.
Stop squabbling, Even if you did not vote for Obama you can still help make a difference in our country by coming together as one country and not divided. Is that not what our country is about. He won by majority vote just not by electorial vote. That is what our country is all about. You sound like a bunch of small children that didn't get their way.
Grow up and help instead of hurting things worse and dividing this great country more.
  • Cooper · 1 year ago
The end is near!!! LOL. I LOVE that! Are you one of the guys that went out and bought an Uzi for "protection" for fear that your right to purchase rediculous weapons would be taken away? Bob, Bob, Bob...

My advice to any overly distraught folks this morning... You dont need to stop listening to the right wing radio shows etc... but how about not letting them brainwash you? Listen to both sides.

And Tracy.... You have not been ashamed of this country at all in the last 8 years??? NOW you are ashamed???!!!! Man, I was right down the middle on this election. It was a tough decision. But nothing has made me sadder through this whole process than the opinions I have read this morning. Talk about ashamed.
  • Lee · 1 year ago
I agree with you Cooper, It sickens me to read some of the comments above. Wow...our country is in worse shape that I thought, and only the American people and changing some of the thought process will help.
  • Ron Phillips · 1 year ago
Well here it is folks. I am a business owner who employs 37 people. I make well over $250,000 a year. President elect Obama will hit me with an 8% tax - to recover this loss I will be letting 8 employees go. I called my managers in this morning to decide who would be let go at the beginning of the year. My floor foreman had the best idea - we went outside and found 8 Obama bumper stickers - made our decision REALLY easy. It's like America didn't consider the consequences do they really think the wealthy are going to take the loss? Also, I hope your ready for prices to climb, how do you think the dairy farmers are going to recover their tax gouges - hope you don't like milk or you don't mind paying a lot more for it. But hey it's cool - we have a black president that makes us a cool country now. Did you see the other countries celebrating? Did that not make anyone else nervous?
  • Lee · 1 year ago
WOW,,,I wouldn't want to work for you...Shame on you for saying you will fire someone because of their choice as an American to cast their own voice through their vote. That is a dictator comment. I also run a company and as you know there are other options.... As a business owner you know there are a lot of tax breaks you can benefit from so don't play the poor me card.
For you to go back to the race card shows your racism....How about he is just an American that the majority of Americans voted in.... Before we start throwing out what is definitely going to happen and showing so much anger...let's give him a chance. And I have a lot of friends in Europe, Bankers, investors and they ARE celebrating. Are we so egotistical to think that all the world stops what their doing to wait and watch what happens with us. They have a lot of their own problems.
  • Ron · 1 year ago
Racism? Who said the owners of the Obama stickers were black? Just like a democrat making assumptions. They voted him in office and I assume they knew his policy intentions - I really hate to believe that they voted for him just because he was black or they bought into the whole (extremely vague) "Time for a Change" message. Taxing the rich to give to the poor sounds like a good idea huh? Well not to anyone that took a junior high economics class - welcome to socialism - I'm sure they will be ok - I just hope when he is "spreading the wealth" he doesn't forget these 8 that will be unemployed. I actually heard an interview where an Obama voter asked when the issue of reparations would be addressed and if anyone knew just how much they would be getting. LMAO - You asked for it you got it America - ENJOY!! Hey Prez Elect instead of handing out money to the lazy how about creating some jobs!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you see all that celebrating last night and that was just Venezuela. Did you see the stock market today - the last 2 days of the election (when McCain was climbing) the stock market was climbing significantly. Have you seen it today? Trust me get your money out while you can. Obama economics scares the hell out of investors. Hold on everyone it's gonna be a bumpy ride. PALIN in 2012!! She will rescue this country and truly UNITE America!!
  • MaRk · 1 year ago
    Fact Lee ...they did.

Also I was down the middle most of the time as well....I own a small contracting company and I am quite financially stable....but the tax ideas he has are scary we will see how many breaks are available soon enough till then my employees are secure.

I did not vote for Obama, but I will support him and this country, my country, but will he listen?
Will he be any different than any other politician cooing in our ear?
    We will see.
  • Lee · 1 year ago
Mark ...glad to hear finally someone that even though did not vote for Obama still will support him as our President. We all hope he listens. And good for you to not start jumping and firing people as Ron has above.
Why lay people off till you find out what happens and then make a wise and calculated decision on the basis on their work performance and not just because they exercised their right as an American, and if you are laying off people, Ron right now, you were in trouble before and this has nothing to do with Obama. Take credit where Credit is Due.
Thank you for your intelligent and educated comments Mark, yours were one of a very small few on this page.
  • Socks · 1 year ago
Bob, I agree. I think it is time, actually it always should have been time, to pray. We need to pray to God that Obama can or will do a good job. I don't think it is possible, but we shall see. I am sounding negative here, but not much is known about him. He wasn't elected because of his known skills, he was elected because he is black. Well 7% of him is anyway. If it is the end, just make sure that you are living your life the best way you can and by the Bible.
  • bullwinkle0780 · 1 year ago
Not to be a prick but you really think that his votes came from Americans because he was black? Because us Americans do not care about the future of our country, we only care about the color of of our next president. WOW. I can't believe that their are still people out there who think that the color of your skin determines your potential. By the way,
I don't dis Christianity, but I am an agnostic, so no, I think we've prayed enough for the last 8 years, now it is time to take our destiny into our own hands. Read "Oh the places you'll go" by Dr. Seuss. To many of us have sat in the "waiting place" for 2 long.
  • Rebekah · 1 year ago
Race will always be an issue. I live in Louisiana and overheard many African Americans saying they voted for Obama b/c he is black. They are all living on federal government money and receiving free health care. I do not belive people like this should be able to vote. They can't even hold a job and the only reason they can give for their vote is b/c he is black. On the radio today, they interviewed an african american woman who said she is glad her brother is in the White House b/c she don't have to pay her mortgage no mo, her car note no mo, and her electricity no mo b/c her brother is going to take care of her. This is the type of person who really concerns me. We allow them to live off my hard earned money, vote, get free health care and education and it is all about what more they can get for free. Point in case is they think b/c Obama is black they are going to benefit. I realize that not all african americans are like that and there is white trash too. Oh by the way, I do realize McCain won LA, but just sickened by what more can we get for free.
  • Socks · 1 year ago
    Amen!
  • bullwinkle0780 · 1 year ago
Easy there Bekah, while your at it, tell all of the people who voted for McCain because he wasn't black that they shouldn't be aloud to vote either. The constitution of the U.S. affords us the right to vote no matter how POOR we may be. You think because our President is black that poverty will end and us po' and lazy folk will get a free ride? I work full time, attend 15 credit hours of college a semester, have a son, and I cannot afford health insurance. So I use the gov. so my son can go to the doctor, and so he can attend day care while I work and go to school 11 hrs. a day. I am poor! But I am trying really hard to make it, and I deserve to have my voice heard. Just as much as all of you. So, free health care? Hell Yeah! Free Education Hell Yeah x2. We as a nation should support our brothers and sisters no matter what color they are. Instead of kicking them when they are down. Obama 08!

Some of you who say you are ashamed, What are you ashamed of ? are you ashamed that democracy is true? or that you live in one of the greatest countries on the earth? let us not take what we have for granite. We all have a reponsibility to work together as adults and not middleschool children, dont polarize are country because of your opinions, beliefs, etc
Remember its not about you. Its about Us.USofA.

I'm a McCain supporter, and really worried about Obama being President (to say the least!). As others have said, I really hope that this turns out to be a good change...and not a bad one. I was doing some surfing, found this website...www.bumpercrock.com. check it out.
  • Rebekah · 1 year ago
Hey bullwinkle. As far as voting, you missed what I am saying. If you do not hold a job and collect government income, you should not be able to vote b/c you are not a contributing memeber of society, no matter what your race is. You are one that I applaud b/c not only do you work, but you are going to school. I am talking about the people who sit at home all day and do nothing but rely on the government to pay their bills. You can honestly say that you are ok with giving them your tax dollars when they are doing absolutely nothing to better themselves? Not only did I work 3 jobs while I was working on both my B.S. and M.S., but I was denied any type of medicaid coverage by the government. I believe that people who attend school should have some type of health care available to them b/c they are trying to better themselves. I was not able to get any grants and owe a nice chunk to Sallie Mae and yes it sucks, but has made me appreciate everything I have worked for. It is sad that those out there think they are entitled to free education b/c of their race. Free health care for everyone...you want to basically attend a charity type of health care??? It is sad that people really think this type of health system would be better. Watch the number of people scream when they get piss poor health care b/c the md's are not getting any great reimbursement and are breaking even after all of the years of schooling and debt they acquired. Alot of things sound better in theory until you put them into practice and then everyone starts to change their mind.

Everyone does deserve free health care. Look, we may not be able to know who is milking the government and who is not, but alot of people are not able to just go and get jobs, or an education. Maybe they were dealt bad hands or maybe they did it to themselves. We have to trust that the government will do its best to weed through those who are milking.
But, just because they get a little money from the government, does not mean they get a free ride. I wouldn't trade places with them for one second, because it is hard being poor. I know there are poor people who get government assistance, but you don't have to pay for them. It is the popular belief among conservatives that hard working Americans have to pay for free loaders, but if you would like to really know, we pay more for white collar crime than for welfare. Yes, there is statistical data to back that statement up. So its not always the poor uneducated peoples fault. You are educated! Then by all means, ignore those who tell you they never have to pay for such and such again. The whole concept of what they supposedly said is ludicrous anyway.
On health care, I have spoken to m.d.s and patients from Germany, Canada, France, and England. They wouldn't trade their health care system for ours in a million years. People don't die waiting in line. That is well known propaganda, and yet we still choose to fall for it. Doctors get bonuses for preventative health care. They make 6 figure salaries. Patients of any social class can walk into a clinic and get treated for free. It really does work! I promise.
Doctors here? Preventative medicine HAHAHA! What a joke. The drug companies do not make money if people prevent their ailments. Basically, Bekah, whether you think someone deserves the right to be treated for free is your opinion, but just remember, there are poor ignorant crooks and rich sly crooks, the only difference is the rich ones cost us more money and know damn well better. Once again "don't hate, educate". Peace
